Abstract
Twenty interracial partners (13 pairs of a Ebony guy and A white girl; 7 pairs of a Ebony girl and a White guy) had been seen and rated by judges for real attractiveness. The couples also rated by themselves and their lovers with this measurement. Because physical attractiveness is a vital variable in social attraction, it had been argued, according to trade concept, that in a racially prejudiced society Blacks would have to provide more to Whites than vice versa to take part in an interracial partnership. It had been hypothesized, consequently, that Blacks would go beyond their White lovers in real attractiveness.
